LUDLOW (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – New details are emerging about a deadly wreck caused by a wrong-way driver.
State police say 84-year-old Clarence Lux of New
Britain, Conn., was going west on the Mass. Pike near Ludlow on Friday night when he suddenly pulled a U-turn and began driving into oncoming traffic.
A couple of minutes later, the car slammed head-on into a vehicle driven by U.S. Marine Corporal Bobby Magee, 28, of West Bridgewater. Both drivers died.
Magee's father told FOX 25 his son was on the way to Westover Air Base in Chicopee for reservist training. Corporal Magee joined the Marines after 9/11 and served a combat tour during the war in Iraq.
State Police say Lux had a medical condition that might have been a contributing
factor. State police would not disclose Lux's medical condition, citing medical
privacy laws.
