Britain, Conn., was going west on the Mass. Pike near Ludlow on Friday night when he suddenly pulled a U-turn and began driving into oncoming traffic. A couple of minutes later, the car slammed head-on into a vehicle driven by U.S. Marine Corporal Bobby Magee, 28, of West Bridgewater. Both drivers died. Magee's father told FOX 25 his son was on the way to Westover Air Base in Chicopee for reservist training. Corporal Magee joined the Marines after 9/11 and served a combat tour during the war in Iraq.
