
BOSTON (FOX 25/ MyFoxBoston.com) - State police say a driver has died after traveling the wrong way on Interstate 93 northbound in Boston near the entrance to the Tip O'Neill Tunnel.
Initial reports from Mass. State Police suggest a person driving a 1999 Dodge Dakota entered route 93 north at Frontage Road before striking a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder.
Troopers say one of two victims injured in the crash was ejected from their vehicle.
The driver of the Dakota was pronounced dead at Tufts Medical Center. The second driver was treated for non-life threatening injuries on Sunday.
A third vehicle was involved in the crash, but the driver was uninjured.
The accident happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. State police closed the entire northbound side of the highway for less than an hour.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
