SWAMPSCOTT (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) The search for a missing kayaker continued in the waters off Swampscott on Sunday morning.
Officials tell FOX 25 a helicopter and a small boat were out searching the water. The Marblehead Harbormaster was also conducting a check of the shorelines.
The Coast Guard and local officials began a search on Saturday after 23-year-old Mayran Lisoboich went out on a blue kayak from Fisherman's Beach in Swampscott around 4 p.m. and did not return. Lisoboich's girlfriend remained on the beach and called 911 around 6 p.m. after he did not come back to the beach at the time he was expected to return. He was not wearing a life jacket.
Lisoboich's kayak was found on a beach Saturday night. It is not known whether the boat washed up or was placed on the beach.
