According to authorities, "The Bearded Bandit" is responsible for robbing six banks in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts since February 2012.

The bank robberies occurred on February 23 in Seekonk, Mass., April 16 in Cranston, R.I., May 7 in Warwick, R.I., June 27 in North Providence, R.I., July 26 in Barrington, R.I., and August 25 in North Pawtucket, R.I.

Massachusetts State Police say the robberies occurred approximately 30 days apart and usually took place between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

During each of the robberies, the suspect claimed to have a gun, but he never showed it. He also spoke on his cell phone during each of the robberies.

The suspect may change his clothes after fleeing the bank on foot and often wears a brown hooded sweatshirt, a blue knit cap, and warm-up pants. He has also worn a light green baseball cap and a hooded shirt with flames on the front and on the sleeves.

The FBI is offering a reward for his capture.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at the Commonwealth Fusion Center at 978-451-3700.
