Brookline considers ban on plastic foam containers

Posted: Updated:

BROOKLINE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A water bottle ban was recently upheld by Attorney General Martha Coakley's office. And now in Brookline, they want to ban Styrofoam.

According to the Boston Herald, a ban on plastic foam containers will be considered at Brookline's November town meeting.

Retired Brookline attorney Nancy authored the ban and says she wants Brookline businesses to be prohibited from serving take-out food and beverages in Styrofoam containers.

Heller told the newspaper that Styrofoam is an environmental hazard.
