Mass. authorities renew efforts in 1992 slaying

Posted: Updated:

REVERE (AP) - Authorities are stepping up their efforts to solve the 20-year-old slaying of a Saugus woman.

Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley, state police, and Revere police made a renewed appeal to the public Wednesday for information about the September 1992 death of 27-year-old Susan Taraskiewicz. Her mother, Marlene Taraskiewicz, also attended a news conference where officials announced new donated digital billboards will remind people of the case.

Taraskiewicz was last seen leaving work at Northwest Airlines at Logan International Airport to pick up sandwiches for co-workers.

Her beaten and stabbed body was found the next day in the trunk of her car at a Revere auto body shop. Police think she was killed somewhere else and her body driven to the shop.

Authorities say they "remain committed" to solving the case.
