SALEM, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Three males from Massachusetts were arrested
early Sunday morning following an investigation into a reported shot fired at the
intersection of Maclarnon Road and South Policy Street in Salem, New Hampshire.
Police responded to the intersection around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday for a report of
several gun shots.
Upon arrival, officers were met by a resident who told police that he heard the
sound of squealing tires and the acceleration of a vehicle. He went to look and saw a dark colored sedan
stopped in the roadway. Two male
occupants reportedly exited the vehicle, one of which fired several rounds from
a handgun in the opposite direction, towards the Rte. 93 Exit 1 off ramp that
crosses over South Policy Street.
Shortly after the incident was reported, an officer
spotted a dark colored sedan in the area of Rockingham Race Track that matched
the description of the vehicle given by the witness.
The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the three
male occupants.
The officer located a loaded handgun in the car; however, it was not the one
used during the incident. The males
denied any involvement in the shooting, and officers were unable to
definitively link the car to the crime.
Jonathan Mai, 19, of Lowell, was arrested for carrying a firearm
without a license. He is scheduled to
appear in court on Oct. 15.
Bophann Pech, 19, of Lynn, was taken into custody and charged with
minor in possession of alcohol. He is
scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 15.
The second passenger, 17, was transported to headquarters to be released to
family members.
