WINCHESTER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Services for the Winchester native killed in an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya will be held at the St. Eulalia Church on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Family and friends are invited to gather in St. Eulalia Church located at 50 Ridge St. in Winchester, on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. to honor the life of Glen Doherty.  The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the same church.

Doherty, 42, is a former Navy SEAL, who graduated from Winchester High School in 1988. In spite of an injury, Doherty continued working to protect the U.S. following the Sept. 11 attacks.

Doherty's family and friends gave the world a glimpse into the life of an American hero in a writing to the media on Thursday that included information about Doherty's childhood and quotes from friends.

"He embodied the selfless spirit, unwavering determination to succeed, and dedication to our country that sets the standard for what every American should strive to be," says one former SEAL.

Doherty was among four Americans killed at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Tuesday along with U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. FOX News identified another victim of the attack as 41-year-old Tyrone Woods, also a former Navy SEAL. The State Department has not publicly released all names.
