Sen. hopeful Warren weighs in on ballot questions

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (AP) - Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren appears to be leaning toward supporting two high-profile ballot questions on the November ballot in Massachusetts.

Asked Monday if she supports a question that would legalize the medical use of marijuana, Warren said she's in favor of allowing doctors to prescribe something that can help ease a patient's suffering.

She also said there would have to be proper restrictions on the use of the drug.

Warren also said she leans toward giving dying patients more autonomy is making life-ending decisions. Warren made the comment when asked about a question that would allow terminally ill adults to self-administer life-ending drugs.

Warren spoke on WTKK-FM.

Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown has said he's opposed to the marijuana question, but is still weighing the life-ending drugs question.
