Father-daughter dances get 2nd chance in Cranston

Posted: Updated:

CRANSTON, R.I. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The much talked about dance ban in Rhode Island is now heading to state lawmakers.

Monday night, school committee members reached a decision unanimously approving a resolution to request modifications to state law so father-daughter and mother-son events could legally continue.

This whole controversy started after the Cranston School District received a complaint from the ACLU, saying an upcoming father-daughter dance discriminated against a single mom.
