Candidate Bio: Brian Woodworth - 2nd District

Posted: Updated:

Brian Woodworth is running to represent Illinois' 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress.

Woodworth is a lawyer with a strong worth ethic, and feeling of responsibility to the residents he hopes to represent on Capitol Hill. He also works as a professor at Olivet Nazarene University, who believes in accountability and fiscal responsibility in government.

He wants to make health care affordable, find realistic energy solutions, help balance the federal budget, create jobs and help small businesses flourish. He also believes in working for the good of others, even if that means a smaller role for government.

He is running against Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who has represented the district since December 1995.

Illinois 2nd district covers Kankakee County and portions of Cook and Will Counties, including Bradley, Bourbonnais, Calumet City, Chicago, Chicago Heights, Country Club Hills, Dolton, Harvey, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Kankakee, Lansing, Markham, Matteson, Park Forest, Richton Park, Riverdale, Sauk Village and Steger.

Americans, and especially the people of Illinois' 2nd Congressional District, need more and better opportunities for careers. Simply put, we need real career-level jobs… We need policies that encourage domestic growth and investment. Government needs to get off the backs of businesses. Government needs to eliminate administrative policies that discourage business creation. Government needs to eliminate taxes that depress domestic investment. Read more…
