ROCKLAND (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A Rockland store was held up on Friday night by a grenade-wielding robber.

Investigators say they responded to the Tedeschi's on Union Street just after 7:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call for a robbery in progress.

Witnesses say a white man wearing a green bandana over his face entered the store with what appeared to be a hand grenade. The man demanded cash and a pack of Camel non-filtered cigarettes from the store clerks before fleeing on foot.

The man is described as being of medium build and approximately 6' tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a green camouflage bandana over the top of his head and a lime green bandana over his face. He was also wearing a white baseball hat with a turquoise rim that had a logo for the "Brickyard 400-Indianapolis Motor Speedway- August 5, 1995." The hat also had light blue paint spots on its left side.

Anyone with information is asked to call Rockland Police Department at 781-871-3890 or the anonymous tip line at 781-878-4672.
