Health headlines: Critical drug shortages

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - What if you went to the pharmacy to pick up a drug that would prevent breast cancer from spreading to other parts of your body and you were told there's a shortage of the drug, you can't get it and you're actually turned away. Or, imagine if you're a doctor in the emergency room and you reach for a life-saving treatment and see that it's in limited supply.

It's happening in New England and nationwide, critical drug shortages that are leaving patients and doctors frustrated and angry. Dr. Darria Long, emergency room doctor at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and instructor at Harvard Medical School, has more.
