(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The Red Sox season is mercifully over. In the final game of the season, the team was crushed by the Yankees 14-2.
The team returned to Fenway Park overnight after the loss to pick up their cars and clean out their lockers.
With the season now over, the wait now begins on when and if, although it's not exactly a big if, Bobby Valentine gets the axe.
Bobby Valentine is not going down quietly. In a radio interview and in Wednesday's pre-game press conference, Valentine said that he felt he was undermined at times by members of the coaching staff.
General Manager Ben Cherington would not comment on Valentine's status Wednesday.
The Sox finished the season 69 wins and 93 losses, their worst record since 1965.
