Obama, Romney clash on the tax facts during presidential debate

One of the toughest things about these debates is to try to figure out who's really telling the truth, and who's stretching it.

There were long stretches of this debate that only a wonky expert could have loved, in part, because Mitt Romney - who hasn't offered many details of his plans for taxes and health care - began offering them on the fly.

At times, the president seemed confounded. Romney insisted that he would generate jobs through his tax cuts on businesses.

The two candidates actually had a similar, overriding message: "Trust me, that other guy's plans and numbers don't add up."
