RUTLAND (AP) - A 23-year-old Rutland man is facing drunken driving and motor vehicle homicide charges in connection with a crash that resulted in his father's death.
Harrison Locke was released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty this week.
Police say Locke was driving 63 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone at about 1 a.m. May 10 when he lost control and his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle came to rest in the road.
The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/PDtFY3 ) reports that the passenger, 52-year-old Nathan Locke, was taken to a hospital where he died. Harrison Locke also suffered injuries and police say a blood test showed a blood-alcohol level well above the legal limit.
Harrison Locke told police that he didn't remember the crash.
