Crews continue search for missing UNH student

Posted: Updated:

CHESTER, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The search for Elizabeth Marriott, a missing University of New Hampshire student, has entered its fifth day.

New Hampshire State Police, along with the FBI and other organizations, continue to scour the southeastern portion of the state for Marriott who was last seen on Tuesday.

On Friday, the New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said they are treating Marriott's disappearance as a missing persons case.

A state police helicopter flew over the New Hampshire seacoast on Friday while Fish and Game officials and marine crews combed the area for any sign of Marriott.

Investigators said Marriott sent a text to friends around 9 p.m. on Tuesday that she would meet them in Dover later that night; however, Marriott never showed up. She also failed to show up for work on Wednesday which is reportedly out of character for the 19-year-old commuter student.

Marriott is described as five feet, five inches tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. She weighs about 125 pounds.

Anyone who may have seen Marriott on Tuesday or may have information about her is asked to call Chester, N.H. police at 603-887-2080 or N.H. State Police at 603-271-3636.
