BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A Charlestown man placed on administrative leave by the City of Boston after being arrested on child pornography charges was arraigned on Monday.

James Mansfield, 47, of Charlestown, was held on $20,000 cash bail at his arraignment and can only reside at his family home if he posts bail.

Mansfield was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with his children and no contact at all with any other children under the age of 18. He must be fitted with a GPS monitoring device within 24 hours of his release and report to probation officers three times per week. He must also refrain from using alcohol or drugs, must abide by a curfew of 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and must have no contact with any victims or witnesses in his case.

Mansfield was arrested on Friday following an investigation into a "cybertip" from Massachusetts State Police regarding online chats in which the suspect was reportedly engaged.

Investigators searched Mansfield's iPhone, as well as his home. Police recovered more than 100 images depicting children under the age of 16 on the computer and flash drive.

Mansfield is facing two counts of possessing child pornography which is punishable by up to five years in state prison. He is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 15.

Mansfield was placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the hearing. He worked as an executive assistant for the Boston Transportation Department since 1984.
