
BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - One person was killed in a shooting that spilled onto Route 93 southbound in Boston on Wednesday.
One man dead and three people are behind bars. It all started at the intersection of Southampton Street and Melnea Cass Boulevard in Roxbury around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. That's right near Massachusetts Avenue and Boston Medical Center.
Boston police say a car pulled up alongside another vehicle and opened fire, hitting a man. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Boston Medical Center.
The suspects left the scene, driving onto the Southeast Expressway. Officers spotted the vehicle and chased the car.
State troopers were able to box in the suspects vehicle near Freeport Street and take three passengers into custody.
Police confirmed they have located a handgun and all roads are back open. The investigation will continue as to whether the weapon is linked to the shooting.
