Man arrested in hypodermic needle robberies

Posted: Updated:

Police in Fall River said they have arrested a man wanted for holding up an insurance office with a hypodermic needle.

Police said 29-year-old Daniel Cabral, of Somerset, walked into the Medeiros Insurance Company on Eastern Avenue, demanded money and told employees that he had a needle that was infected with HIV.

Cabral was also wanted in connection with an Oct. 6 armed robbery at Cerbri Hair Salon, according to police. They said Cabral pointed a needle at someone's face during that robbery.

Cabral was charged with armed robbery while masked in both cases.

Police said they were also searching for Logan Bence, 25, in connection with the hair salon robbery and another insurance company robbery earlier in October.
