Two people were arrested in connection with the straw purchase of six different handguns, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced Friday.
According to DA Seth Williams, 41-year-old Lakeisha Taylor was arrested Wednesday and charged with Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA) and gun trafficking for purchasing six handguns for a convicted felon.
Investigators say a salesman was suspicious and contacted the Gun Violence Task Force.
The DA says she admitted to agents that she purchased the guns for a man she had known for six years, 31-year-old Michael Gardiner.
Gardiner, who the DA says is a convicted felon, was arrested at his home on Thursday with two of the guns in his possession.
"If you buy a gun for a convicted criminal, we will find you and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law," Williams said in a statement.
