PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia Police have made arrests in two weekend homicide cases but say investigators are still working a third killing.

On Monday, police announced they had made arrests in a Saturday morning shooting that left a 26-year-old dead on the 1500 block of N. 54th Street.

According to police, 33-year-old Odell Balmer and 39-year-old Ricky Ricks were arrested in connection with the shooting.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument. Investigators have not released the name of the victim.

Police also made an arrest in a stabbing case from early Sunday morning on the 600 block of East Carver Street.

In that case, police say a man, Shawn Rodgers, was stabbed in the chest. He was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Police say 25-year-old Porchia Halloway was arrested in connection with the stabbing.

In another shooting Saturday, where a 40-year-old was shot to death on the 1500 block of Mifflin Street, police have not yet made any arrests. Investigators say the shooting stemmed from an argument.
