FOXBOROUGH (AP) - The New England Patriots are one of just three AFC
teams with winning records but have plenty of problems heading into the
midpoint of the season.
They beat the New York Jets in overtime 29-26 on Sunday after blowing a
10-point, fourth-quarter lead for the second straight week. In their previous
game, they lost to the Seattle Seahawks 24-23.
The Patriots (4-3) continue to have troubles in coverage and have allowed
the fourth most yards passing. The offense is ranked first in the NFL in yards
but scored only two touchdowns in each of the last two games.
They face the St. Louis Rams (3-4) in London next Sunday. Then the Patriots
have a bye before starting the second half of the season at home against the
Buffalo Bills.
