A medical supply van jumped a curb and slammed into several children on a sidewalk in New Square, a village in Rockland County, N.Y., according to reports.
The van also crashed into an electrical transformer and knocked out power to local residents, officials said.
Five girls who were on the sidewalk were hurt in the accident. Two victims were taken to Nyack Hospital while the other three were transported to Westchester Medical Center, Ramapo Police said.
A 9-year-old girl suffered a head injury. A 7-year-old girl suffered a fracture to her femur.
The other three girls were threated and released, police said.
The driver, Rachid Elasri, 42, of Spring Valley, was not hurt, according to police.
The accident happened on Bush Lane at about 4 p.m.
