Parents at a Delaware County middle school want answers to a mystery that has their kids' principal off the job because of a federal investigation.
From a distance, it looks like just another day at Springton Middle school.
But looks can be deceiving.
The principal, Dr. Troy Czukoski, was placed on administrative leave last Thursday, after Rose Tree Media school district officials were contacted by the U.S. Attorney's office and the Postal Service inspector, about an ongoing investigation involving Czukoski.
Parents were notified of the probe- and of the decision to place the principal on leave- through a recorded phone message.
Four days later, those parents are still in the dark.
"We really don't know anything," said Alec Schwartz, whose child attends Springton Lake. "They haven't told us anything and there's a lot of rumors flying around."
Does it concern Schwartz that he hasn't been told anything?
"I think that I respect that there's a process involved and therefore, if there's any way to do it that's humane- for lack of a better word- this is the way to do it. And I appreciate that."
Fox 29s Bruce Gordon paid a visit to Dr. Czukoski's Exton home, but no one answered the door.
And there was no immediate response from his West Chester-based attorney, who has already said Czukoski has neither committed any crime, nor abused the trust of his community.
District superintendent James Wigo tells Fox 29 that he has received no updated information from federal authorities, so Dr. Czukoski will remain on administrative leave for now.
Said Wigo: "When we hear something, we will immediately notify parents."

Thursday weather looks damp and stormy. It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms. Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
This system is from the same cold front that caused the midwest tornadoes. It will also usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
