Member Of Mayor Nutter's Detail Involved In Montgomery Drive Crash

A member of Mayor Nutter's security detail was involved in a two-car crash near the busy intersection of Montgomery Drive and MLK Drive Tuesday morning.

Fox 29's Kacie McDonnell reported that the eastbound lanes were closed for approximately one hour while an investigation was conducted.

The officer was on his way to pick up Mayor Nutter at his home and was driving a city vehicle.

He was transported to Hahnemann Hospital.  He is listed in stable condition.  A civilian who was driving the other vehicle was also transported to Hahnemann.  He sustained minor injuries.

The veteran officer was transported to Hahnemann Hospital where he is undergoing treatment and observation. His condition is listed as stable. Also transported to Hahnemann is the civilian driver, who sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
