Dr. Mike On The Ingredients In Energy Drinks And Their Impact On The Body

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

On Good Day Tuesday morning, Dr. Mike Cirigliano broke down the ingredients found in energy drinks and discussed their impacts on the body following an FDA investigation into the death of five people linked to drinking Monster Energy Drinks.

On Monday, the FDA announced its investigation, but also said the reports don't prove that the caffeinated drinks caused the deaths.

Dr. Mike says these types of products typically contain a large amount of caffeine, 240 milligrams in some cases, which can have a negative effect on the body for some people.

While the drinks do have warning labels, Dr. Mike says improved labeling might help to better inform consumers of exactly what the product has in it.
