A Philadelphia Police Officer was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in the Germantown section of the city.

The incident happened in the area of Chelten and Kenyon around 2:30 p.m. as police were investigating two men inside of a black Chrysler.

Police say the suspects attempted to reverse and flee the scene when their vehicle struck the officer, hitting him in the ankle.

The two men inside of the vehicle were taken into custody, according to police.

It appears the officer is in good condition, but is still being taken to the Einstein Medical Center as a precaution.
