PHILADELPHIA -

Former Eagles coach Dick Vermeil didn't have any problems offering his prediction for the Eagles game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The former NFL coach was in Philadelphia Tuesday night for an event in Society Hill.

The coach told Fox 29's Howard Eskin he felt the Eagles might just be the team to beat the Falcons.

The Falcons sit at the top of their division with a 6-0 record.

Vermeil says he's confident about the Eagles who, under Andy Reid, have a strong record coming out of a bye week.

The Eagles, 3-3, dropped an overtime loss to the Detroit Lions, 26-23. Following the loss, the team dismissed defensive coordinator Juan Castillo.

The Eagles host the Falcons Sunday.
