FALL RIVER (AP) - A Fall River woman accused of robbing a city liquor
store three times within a 24-hour period, and who was recognized by the
store's owner because she had spent time in jail for robbing the same store,
has pleaded guilty.
Latasha Singletary pleaded guilty this week to three counts of armed robbery
after a judge ruled her mentally competent based on a court psychiatrist's
evaluation .
The Herald News
reports that the 30-year-old Singletary is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 20.
Prosecutors say Singletary robbed Anna's Liquors at knifepoint once on June
12 and twice on June 13. She made off with cash, cigarettes, liquor and lottery
tickets. The store manager recognized Singletary as the woman who robbed the
store in 2011.
