The doors of a new $30 million, three-story science building were officially opened Wednesday at the Blackwood Campus of Camden County College.
The new 107,000 square foot building is part of an $83 million project that was announced in 2005.
The science building houses 10 biology labs, six chemistry labs, a physics lab and 24 classrooms and lecture rooms.
"This new facility will keep Camden County College in the forefront of providing quality and affordable education for years to come," Freeholder Ian Leonard said in a statement.
"Camden County College is recognized as the best county college in the state and we are fortunate to have it right here in our own county."
College officials say the new building is being submitted to the Green Building Certification Institute for a silver-level in Energy and Environmental Design certification.
