Local Red Cross Gearing Up For Hurricane Sandy

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Red Cross is ready for the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.

Judge Renee Hughes visited Good Day this morning to talk about the steps her organization is taking to protect the people that are in the path of this huge storm

Hughes told Mike and Sheinelle, "This is serious.  People should not take this as a scare tactic."

She went on to stress the importance of stocking up on the essentials: food and water.

Families should have an emergency plan in place now, before the storm arrives.  Get all personal paperwork in one safe, dry place.

The American Red Cross is offering a great hurricane APP.

If you do not have a smart phone or IPAD, you are encouraged to visit redcross.com for all pertinent storm information.

finally, the Red Cross is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help anyone out in an emergency.
