Some places postponing Halloween for safety reasons

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Frankenstorm is not scaring away little tikes on Halloween. Several cities and towns announced they are moving forward with some Halloween fun.

Boston Mayor Tom Menino announced trick-or-treating will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and public safety agencies will be there just in case.
    
Many towns across the state saying they will celebrate the day as usual, but there are some places that are postponing Halloween for saftey purposes.

According to the Boston Herald, officials in Fitchburg, Leominster and Lunenburg decided Monday to postpone trick-or-treating until Saturday as a safety measure. Trick-or-treating has also been postponed in Holyoke. Merrimac rescheduled trick-or-treating Tuesday until Sunday.

Gloucester has also announced plans to push forward their Halloween celebrations to Sunday between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Gloucester residents can also attend a Halloween Party on Sunday between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rose Baker Senior Center. Children between the ages of 1 and 8 receive free admission to the event that includes crafts, games, and face painting.

The city of Portsmouth, NH has rescheduled trick or treating to Saturday, Nov. 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.

FITCHBURG

Trick or Treating will now be held on Nov. 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Trick or Treat on Main Street is still scheduled for Nov. 3rd from 12:30 to 2:30 PM.

HOLYOKE

Halloween trick-or-treating will be postponed until Saturday, November 3.

LEOMINISTER

Rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m.

LINCOLN

Rescheduled to Friday, Nov. 2

METHUEN

Rescheduled to Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m

MONSON

Halloween "trick or treat" and the Rotary Club parade is being postponed to Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, with the parade starting at 5:00. Rescheduled to Sunday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.

NORTHFIELD

Rescheduled to Sunday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.

NORWELL

Rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 3

NORTH ADAMS

Halloween in North Adams will be on Friday, November 2nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

NORTH ANDOVER

Halloween Trick-or-Treat is RE-SCHEDULED to Saturday, Nov. 3 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM

RUTLAND

Halloween hours have been postponed until Friday, Nov. 2nd 5-8 p.m.

STOWE

Trick-or-Treating to be held on Sunday, November 4th, between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m.@

SUDBURY

Rescheduled to Friday, Nov. 2

WESTFORD

Rescheduled to Sunday, Nov. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m.
