ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports Atlantic City has issued an emergency curfew from 6 p.m. Monday night to 6 a.m. Tuesday morning as the city continues to experience the impact of Hurricane Sandy.

Emergency management officials say the curfew was put into place due to extreme conditions and flooding throughout the city.

Video from a FOX 29 crew shows the area around the Boardwalk to already be flooded in some areas. A block from the new Revel casino and hotel, standing water could be seen near the Boardwalk.

A coastal flood warning remains in effect through midnight for Atlantic County, along with a high wind warning through 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reports the majority of city roads are under water.

"The driving down here was unbelievable," Dave said on FOX 29.

During a Monday morning briefing, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said "this is not a time to be a show-off, this is not a time to be stupid" and urged those who need to evacuate to do so immediately.

Several shore communities were already experiencing flooding from the storm surge.

Power outages were already being reported along the Jersey Shore.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
