City government offices in Wilmington are scheduled to be back open Wednesday as the city announced it had lifted a mandatory evacuation order for Southeast Wilmington.
Mayor James Baker lifted the evacuation order Tuesday.
Wilmington Police will be on hand to assist residents to return to their home, the mayor's office said.
In addition, the city's Department of Parks and Recreation will help evacuees who are staying at the Red Cross shelter at William Penn High School.
The city says the southeast portion, including the Southbridge neighborhood still has a few isolated areas of standing water.
While the evacuation order was lifted, the city says its state of emergency still remains in effect.
Friday will feature patchy fog to start with lows in the 30s. More clouds than sun in the afternoon with highs in the low 50s. Winds SW 5-10 mph. Even warmer by the weekend with shower chances and record highs.
