CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J. -

Residents in Fortescue, New Jersey say Sandy changed their lives.

FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser spent the day in Fortescue, where entire homes slid into the bay, decks collapsed and entire waterfront rooms disappeared.

Residents say winds from Sandy tossed around boats like they were toys.

One homeowner tells FOX 29 the storm separated their second floor deck from the house.

Longtime residents say in 30-years, they've never seen anything like Sandy.

Cleanup is expected to take a month, but rebuilding will take much longer.

You can watch Dave Schratwieser's report in the video above.

Thursday weather looks damp and stormy.  It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms.  Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.

This system is from the same cold front that caused the midwest tornadoes. It will also usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
