Many people are asking, but so far no timeline has been set for re-opening Atlantic City's casinos in the wake of Sandy.
Those casinos are losing an estimated $5 million a day, FOX 29's Steve Keeley reported Thursday morning.
Keeley was in Brigantine, just north of A.C. It's a shore town that experienced a building boom after gambling came to town, and some casino employees make their homes there.
Of course, Brigantine was also one of the storm-ravaged stops in New Jersey where President Barack Obama and Gov. Chris Christie came to speak with storm victims on Wednesday.
At this time, a travel ban remains in effect for all roadways east of Shore Road and access to the barrier island communities of Brigantine, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate and Longport is prohibited until further notice. A curfew is in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
Keeley reported that when the casinos shut down, they typically don't announce they're reopening that same day. It takes at least a day to get back open. You can bet they'd like to be open by the weekend.
But, if employees can't get to their homes, will they come to work? And with so many experiencing devastation nearby, who will fill the casinos?
Meanwhile, Keeley also later reported anecdotally from a good friend, who is a blackjack dealer in Philadelphia, that the SugarHouse Casino is doing a lot of business with A.C. closed down.
