Study shines light on importance of early intervention

Posted: Updated:

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Autism rates continue to rise. According to a study from the CDC, an estimated one in 88 children in the U.S. has an autism spectrum disorder – a significant increase from one in 150 when the CDC first started tracking the disorder 10 years ago.

A new study is shining a light on the true importance and significance of early intervention, in particular a new type of behavioral therapy.

Dr. Carolyn Bridgemohan, co-director of the clinical autism program at Boston Children's Hospital, discusses the findings.
