PHILADELPHIA -
A member of the New Black Panther Party was back outside a Philadelphia polling site Tuesday, this time reportedly in an official capacity.
The man, wearing dark, military-type garb and a beret with what looked like a panther pin on it, was at a polling place at 12th Street and Fairmount Avenue.
He wouldn't talk to FOX 29 News, but other broadcast and online reports said he was a member of the New Black Panther Party.
FOX News reported that Jerry Jackson had been charged with voter intimidation during the 2008 election for standing outside a polling place, along with Minister King Samir Shabazz. Charges were later dropped by the Department of Justice.
This year, FOX News reported that Jackson, who didn't have a comment, is a designated poll watcher.
Critics say the New Black Panthers are trying to intimidate voters.
