Mass. man kills Conn. man over public urination

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Springfield man has admitted fatally stabbing a Connecticut man prosecutors said he believed was going to urinate in a driveway outside his home.

The Springfield Republican reports 38-year-old Luis Cintron pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder for the 2011 killing of 32-year-old Carlos Beslanga of Newington, Conn. Cintron faces a mandatory life sentence with possible parole.

Prosecutors said Beslanga's brother told authorities he drove to Springfield with his mother and Beslanga to pick up his Beslanga's wife and children. He said Beslanga told his family he was going to urinate at the back of a driveway. Citron saw Beslanga, argued with him, then got a 10-inch kitchen knife from his home and killed him.

Cintron said he suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. His lawyer said the killing was senseless, but noted Cintron did surrender.
