BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Boston have issued a community alert following two separate incidents of indecent assault and battery on teenage females in lower Roxbury.
According to police, a 17-year-old female was walking on Camden Street when she was approached by a male around 6:45 p.m. on Monday. The male suspect engaged her in conversation and then grabbed her around the neck. The victim managed to escape, and the suspect fled towards Camden Street.
The victim told police the suspect appeared to be a Hispanic male, possibly of Dominican descent, in his late teens. He is 5'7" in height, has a stocky build, and a medium complexion with a flat nose and a baby face.
The following evening at approximately 7:25 p.m., a teenage female was walking in the area of Camden Street when a man approached her from behind and stated that he had a gun. The suspect attempted to drag the victim to a secluded area, but the victim managed to fight him off during the attack. The suspect fled from the rear of Camden Street near Shawmut Avenue.
The victim in this incident described the suspect as a black non-Hispanic male with a Haitian accent. He is approximately 25-years-old and 5'6" in height. He has a medium build, and at the time of the incident, was wearing a brown top and light blue jeans.
In both cases, the suspect commented on the physical appearance of the victims before or during the attack. Detectives are looking into the possibility that the two incidents are related.
The investigation is ongoing.
