Chiropractor Charged With Stealing College Student's Underwear

Posted: Updated:
NEWARK, Del. -

As a chiropractic physician Sean Maas is supposed to help people. But early Wednesday morning he shattered the sense of safety of a group of University of Delaware coeds. Police charged him with breaking into their Choate Street home and stealing a 21-year-old's  underwear.

"I've definitely had trouble sleeping since," said one of the University of Delaware seniors who lives  in the house and didn't want to be identified. "We all are on edge."

She says she and her roommates were watching election results come in. Then  showed us one of the first floor windows where police say the 39-year-old chiropractor broke in through an unlocked window to get his hands on the 21-year-old's private property.

"There were five pairs of underwear," Delaware student said listing some of the things he took. " A bra, lingerie...yes, it's creepy."

Police say they found the garments in Maas' waistband. No one answered the door at his Wilmington home.

The Delaware doctor is charged with peeping, burglary and resisting arrest.

Police say a good samaritan spotted him lurking near the girls' window. When cops arrived they say he took off. His face was scratched and a tooth broken when they say  he fell after being tasered.

Maas is out on $8,000 bail.
