Camden Police Search For Suspect In Attempted Child Abduction

Posted: Updated:

Police in Camden say they are looking for a man that grabbed an 11-year-old boy during an attempted abduction Friday night.

It happened at a park located in the 1200 block of Collings Avenue.

Camden Police say a kid threw a rock at the driver of a Jeep Cherokee.  The driver then chased a group of kids out of the park, and grabbed the 11-year-old by the leg.

Investigators say the man tried to drag the boy back to his Jeep but he got away.  The suspect then fled, only to be seen later that night by the boy's father.

The father tried to chase after him but he got away.

Police say the suspect is a black male between 20 to 30 years old with a thin build.  He weighs approximately 140 pounds and stands at 5'9 with brown eyes.

Investigators say he was driving an older grey Jeep Cherokee Loredo with Rhode Island plates and a partial tag of "QU10".

Anyone with information is asked to call Camden Police at 856.757.7420.
