A 60-year-old man is accused of stealing a young puppy from an upstate home.

The New York State Police say they arrested Raymond A. Quintero of Germantown for the theft of a 15-week-old dog.

They say it happened last week in Red Hook.

Police say that on Nov. 7, they were called to the home on Kelly Road.  The owner says that the puppy was stolen outside the house.

Troopers say they followed up leads that resulted in Quintero's arrest.

He faces larceny and trespassing charges and was due back in court later this month.

The dog was returned to its owner.
