'Adopting' a family displaced by the storm

Jeannie Coomber is a full time working mother of two. But the dinner she served Wednesday isn't for her family. It's for the Martinez family, whom she met just a few days ago through her friend's Facebook page called Adopt a Family, Hurricane Sandy.

Most of the volunteers and victims are from the Jersey shore.

Jeannie and hundreds of others who "liked" the Facebook page have been making meals, making donations, and making new friends, like Maribel. Maribel and her family lost almost everything they owned when Sandy flooded their Long Branch apartment.

The family is staying in a bed and breakfast subsidized by FEMA. Thanks to the Facebook page, dozens have even offered up their homes. One man even flew in from San Francisco just to help.

These one-time strangers now share meals and intimate stories of loss.

But they say that what they've gained through this experience will last them forever.
