Stringer to run for NYC Comptroller in 2013, not for Mayor

Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer announced Sunday that he plans to run for Comptroller in 2013. 

Stringer was thought to be considering a run for Mayor. 

Stringer, who has been Borough President for seven years, will face City Councilman Dan Garodnick in a Democratic Primary for Comptroller. 

In 2013, the Democrats hoping to become the next Mayor of New York City will be current Comptroller John Liu, Council Speaker Christine Quinn, former Comptroller Bill Thompson and Public Advocate Bill DiBlasio.
