Pontiac bakery wins 'Cupcake Wars' title

PONTIAC, Mich. (WJBK) -- A Pontiac bakery is enjoying sweet success and the national spotlight.

The Cakeria, located on 153 N. Telegraph Rd., has won "Cupcake Wars," a popular baking competition show on the Food Network.

The husband and wife-owned business began three years ago in the couple's basement. "Our philosophy is that everything has to be made from scratch," April Forbes, co-owner of The Cakeria.

The bakery is known for its peach cake, chocolate rosemary cookies and now, its cupcakes.

The Forbes' went up against three other teams to win "Cupcake Wars."
