The FBI is looking for help tracking down a fugitive suspected of beating a 15-year-old boy to death.
Cook county prosecutors charged 24-year-old Luis Macedo with first degree murder in July 2009, two months after police found Alex Arellano's body in front of an abandoned house in Chicago's West Side. A year later, Macedo was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Witnesses reported seeing as many as ten Latin Kings gang members chase the victim down the street and corner him in a gangway between two houses. It's believed at least four of them beat Arellano with baseball bats. Arellano was then shot in the head. His body was set on fire.
The victim was a freshman at Bowen High School and was walking down the street with his girlfriend when he was approached by some gang members. He was questioned about his gang affiliation and when he indicated he didn't have any, he was jumped. Why is not clear.
The FBI says Macedo is the only one who's been positively identified and has been charged in connection with this murder, although there are at least three other suspects that Chicago police are attempting to identify in connected with the case.
The feds say Macedo has been is identified as the leader of the group that committed this crime.
Right now there is a nationwide search for Macedo. But his last known address was in Oak Lawn and he still has family members there, so it's quite possible he may in the Chicago area.
Here is the FBI's description of Luis Macedo:

About 140 pounds.

This is a case that could be solved by someone on a vacation. At least that's what the FBI is hoping as they once again seek the public's help in tracking down Arnoldo Jimenez.
