SHREWSBURY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A pedestrian was killed on Thursday night while trying to cross Route 20 in Shrewsbury.

Police say Joanne Breault, of Jericho, VT, was traveling east on Route 20 just before 6 p.m. when her 2010 Jeep Liberty hit a pedestrian.

The unidentified pedestrian was transported to the UMass University Campus Hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The accident remains under investigation.
