DETROIT (WJBK) -- Classes at Detroit's Henry Ford High School were canceled for the day after officials say a bomb threat was called in around 7:15 a.m.
Teachers were evacuated and students arriving on campus were not let in the building. Some sat in school buses in order to keep warm.
"At the beginning of the school year, I thought this was about a new year, a new time for everybody to get started again," said sophomore Vincent Moody. "But it's just going back to the same old thing."
The Detroit bomb squad used bomb-sniffing dogs to sweep the campus. No signs of explosives were found, police say.
"(The threat) is upsetting the student's education plus it's putting the students at risk," said Tryone Winfrey from the Education Achievement Authority.
Police do not have anyone in custody, but believe a student is responsible for the threat.
